For sooooo long, our country was filled with Hopelessness (Eight years sounds about right)
On Tuesday, November 4th 2008, during this speech, I cried. My tears were a result of mixed emotions, relief, happiness, pride in my country replaced the embarrassment and shame I carried for soooo long as an American (Eight years sounds about right) and Hope. Hope is a wonderful gift, apart from free will and unconditional love, hope is a human mainstay for life, this speech, this man, the voters of our country FINALLY gave us Hope.

On Tuesday, January 20th, one day after Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday observed, that Hope is realized, cemented and our country, although far from "fixed", can finally hold our heads up. We made a choice for change, to do the right thing, to think for ourselves and get off the bandwagon. President Elect, Barack Obama, will become President of the United States of America.
A historical night filled with hope, that one day, one of my own daughter's of mixed ethnicity, can grow to become the next President, a night filled with Hope that our country is headed toward the process of healing, hope that perhaps, after we have healed ourselves, we may use our power toward healing the wounds we've caused outside of our own boundaries....

HOPE is a wonderful GIFT!

"If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer...."
